LONGWOOD, FL, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Erik Swenk, candidate for Seminole County Judge, Group 6, issued the following statement in response to a report released by the Florida Office of Inspector General. The report, dated August 6, 2026, was released one day before the start of early voting in Seminole County. According to the report, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement stated that no criminal predicate exists at this time to warrant further investigation.

"I will not let this, or any other challenge, interfere with my mission and calling to serve the citizens of Seminole County, and I trust our voters will do the same," said Swenk.

"The report notes that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement found no criminal predicate for further investigation," Swenk said. "The review did not support the concern that I campaigned while on duty. The discrepancies noted came from a personal tracking tool I was not required to keep, while my official state timesheets accurately reflected the hours I worked."

"The emails cited in the report were lunch invitations sent to colleagues before I became a candidate," Swenk said. "They were not intended to influence anyone or to obtain special treatment, and none was sought or given."

"The report was released approximately 24 hours before early voting began, and it was provided to news organizations before I received a copy," Swenk said.

Swenk is a lifelong Central Florida resident. His family's roots in Greater Orlando and Seminole County span 80 years. His campaign is organized around three themes: family, community, and service.

"Facing challenges like these is part of what prepares me to serve," Swenk said. "I have gone through difficulty in my own life, and it gives me real understanding for the people who will one day come before the court."

Swenk is asking Seminole County voters for their support on or before August 18. To learn more, visit voteswenk4judge.com.
